IHCOS establishes the prerequisites for a coaching career. These prerequisites define the technical and social skills required to serve as an internationally accredited professional.
The International Reference Chart for the professional Humanistic Coach – IHCOS® provides the necessary information to determine, a) the prerequisites to become a Humanistic Coach, and, b) career advancement requirements for professional Humanistic Coaches.
The varying coaching and international accreditation levels include training programs, hours of hands-on training practice, coaching sessions, supervision, examinations, among other requirements necessary to attain the title of Humanistic Coach.
The following prerequisites are presented in a simplified manner, to be understandable for any site user. They are structured in levels. Each level incorporates a set of prerequisites that include technical, social and emotional skills; acceptance of the Code of Ethics, coaching sessions and mentoring; supervision, coaching projects and other requirements that attest to the participant’s professionalism within the corresponding coaching level. The higher the coach’s level is, the greater her or his level of experience.
Level 1 is awarded to those who have completed training in coaching skills and have acquired coaching tools to assist them in their personal and/or professional lives. Level 1 members are not professional coaches.
Prerequisite: 60 hours of coaching skills training, over a minimum of 6 days
Level 2 is awarded to Humanistic Professinoal Coach – IHCOS®.
Prerequisite: An international certification with a total of 135 training hours, distributed over a minimum of 12 days + additional hours of practical work experience and supervision. At this level, a coaching specialization is also defined: Business, Life, Sports, Couples, etc...
Level 3 is awarded to professional Humanistic Master Coach – IHCOS® with specialization: Executive, Life, Sports, Couples, etc.
Prerequisites: International Humanistic Coach Certification + 90 hours, distributed over a minimum of 9 days + additional hours of work and supervision for the International Humanistic Master Coach Certification
Level 4 is awarded to professional Humanistic Senior Coach – IHCOS® with specialization: Executive, Life, Sports, Couples, etc…
Prerequisites: International Humanistic Coach Certification + International Humanistic Master Coach Certification + NLP practitioner Certification or a comparable certification, encompassing 130 hours of training over a minimum of 15 days.
Level 5 is awarded to professional Humanistic Coach Trainer – IHCOS®.
Prerequisites: International Humanistic Coach certification - being a Senior Coach is not required. International Humanistic Master Coach certification undergoes a process of supervision and mentoring by experienced Coach Trainers over a period defined by IHCOS guidelines for professionals of this level.
The Ambassador is approved by IHCOS to certify professional coaches internationally through her or his business or institute. The Ambassador is a credentiated Coach Trainer, possessing many levels of certification. He/she has also undergone a process of supervision and mentoring by expert Master Coach Trainers over a previously defined period.
The Ambassador undergoes a rigorous assessment of his/her fulfillment of requirements, professional skills and proven experience as well as IHCOS mentoring before he or she may become a representative who can certify coaching professionals internationally.
To become Ambassador-IHCOS, written letters of recommendation from two IHCOS Master Coach Trainers must be provided.
Level 7 is awarded to professional Humanistic Coach Master Trainer – IHCOS®.
Prerequisites: International Humanistic Coach Certification + International Humanistic Master Coach Certification + NLP practitioner certification or comparable certification with 130 hours of training over a minimum of 15 days + International Humanistic Coach Trainer Certification + more than 10 years of experience, to be certified by IHCOS.
